Meditation can uplift, it can calm, and it can heal.

It can serve as an instrument of love and of change.

When we choose to sit with ourselves, in quiet contemplation, in an act of self-love, we work in service of change and healing. We become our own gurus, our own healers. We gain insight into our deepest fears, desires, and pain, and we’re able to focus on what is pure and turn around what isn’t serving us.

“With our thoughts, we make the world.” – the Buddha

In my latest meditation video, I’m focusing on pain – both emotional and physical. I’m also introducing two elements that may be unfamiliar to you in your new or blossoming practice – touch and song.

It was inspired by a quote my good friend, Brett Hoebel, yelled out at the beginning of one of his extra-intense spin classes in NYC recently.

There are two types of pain: pain that hurts you and pain that changes you. – @bretthoebel via @bexlife (Click to Tweet!)

I realize sometimes that sitting alone in a room, eyes closed, singing and saying affirmations, may feel very silly, but I assure you that it works. It has been a source of healing for myself, and I know that you’ll find some peace and relief from pain through this short, fifteen minute break from your everyday stress.

Please enjoy this meditation and let me know how it goes in the comments below!
