The summer makes the transition into the autumn.

The leaves are turning red and are falling down the trees. You don’t want the summer to end, because it was the greatest summer of your life.

You walk around the garden and collect the leaves. Then you paint them green and put them back on the tree.

Even though the average daily temperature has dropped by 10 degrees Celsius, you still walk around in your summer clothes. Soon, you catch a cold and feel sick. All because you resisted the change.

That’s what happens when people resist the change in their bodies that we call “aging“.

Summer is not better than autumn. The earth just appears to be different on the surface, but at the core, it is always the same.

Doesn’t age make me a different person?

“You are this age, so you are this kind of person now. People at this age do such and such things. By this birthday you should have acquired such and such things,” the world tells you.

The number of your years of age is nothing more than a story created by the person who invented the calendar a few centuries ago.

How many people suffer because they are completely identified with the number of years that has been assigned to them? Millions? Billions?

Do not determine the value of your life by your years, but by the strength of the connection you have to the present moment.

Life is timeless, it can’t be measured. Life just is. You are Life.

But they say my generation is like this.

The mind uses age to divide humanity into generations.

“If you are born in this year, you belong to that generation,” experts say.

The truth is, there is only one Generation:

All human beings who are connected through the Now – the thing that unites us all.

Doesn’t more age make me wiser?

You are in the gym. You see a person with far more muscles than you doing an exercise in a way that is clearly wrong.

Should you tell him or her that he or she performs the exercise in a way that could cause serious injuries? Or should you not tell him or her, because his or her muscles make you think he or she has more experience in the gym than you?

Often people say that you can’t give someone life advice who has more life experience than you. By “life experience” they mean the size of this person’s story.

You may have more experience in the world of form than people who are younger. You may have more knowledge about certain things, and could give others guidance to avoid some traps in life, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are wiser than younger people.

It’s not the person with the biggest or longest story who is the wisest, but the person who has none.

You are wisest not on the day before you die, but on the day you were born. @fabimarkl (Click to Tweet!)

Then, you had no story.

More age does not equal more wisdom.

How can I slow down my aging process for free?

There are two ways.

First, your body synchronizes with the second hand of your wristwatch. Get rid of your wristwatch and soon you’ll appear decades younger.

Second, your body synchronizes with the amount of time you have stored in your head in the form of “past”. Let go of your past entirely.

Most of the stars on the sky have died long ago, yet their light is still telling your eyes the story of their past. Enjoy, the light, but your past is dead.

It has no power over you once you shine the light of your presence onto it.

Isn’t my birthday a special day?

Today, on the day when I am writing these words, my body is exactly 30 years and three months old.

“You should really arrange a big party and invite all your friends.” My inner narrator told me. “It’s your 30th birthday. It’s a special birthday. ”

Why is this day so special?

It’s just another day on earth. The significance of that day is a mental story that has been conditioned into my mind by society. The truth is, 30 is not more special than 20, 18, 13, 27 or 8.

There is not a certain day required to raise the level of my well-being. No day in the future will make me feel better. The days are already perfect.

If there is one thing to celebrate, however, it’s not the fact that my physical form turns 30 on that day, but that I am spending this day in the present moment.

The day of my 30th birthday is not more special than the other days. There are only three
special days in one’s life:

The day when you are born.

The day when you wake up.

The day when you return home.
