A daily meditation practice.

Everywhere you look, another successful person is proclaiming the positive impact their daily meditation practice is having on their personal and professional life. If you search the hashtag meditation on Instagram 4,595,435 posts of people meditating come up (including mine!). Right now Oprah and Deepak Chopra have another twenty-one day Meditation challenge underway (Side note: I mentioned something about Oprah to Deepak a few years ago and he said, “If she had married me, her name would be Oprah Chopra.” #TrueStory)

Have you ever tried to create a meditation practice? Did you succeed? I find that most of my clients fear they’re ‘doing it wrong’ and are ‘too neurotic’ to meditate. They think that meditation isn’t for people like them. For many years I tried to learn to meditate, and failed. I was so committed to the idea of a dedicated practice that I created a sacred space for meditation in every place I lived. I had gorgeous pillows, bottles of pure essential oil, an array of meditation music, statues of deities, twinkly lights and sage to clear the negative energy. The only thing I didn’t have was an actual practice. I like to say I was all gear and no game.

Until a weekend at the Chopra Center with Vic led me to the teacher, Davidji, who would help me put that gear to good use. That was twelve years ago and we have had a dedicated practice since.

The most miraculous thing I learned that fateful weekend was that:

If you have a BUTT & a Couch YOU can be a Meditator #BeStill #JustSit @Terri_Cole (Click to Tweet!)

Davidji became one of my closest friends, my mentor and a spiritual running buddy.

Today on Hello Freedom I am talking to Davidji about how you can get your dedicated meditation practice on without moving to India or become a Buddhist monk. Davidji has created a FREE four part video series to introduce you to meditation, bust myths and answer questions. He is giving you tips and strategies to bring meditation into your daily life.

“We have an opportunity in every single moment how we want to show up.” – Davidji

Note: Davidji Is the originator of the 21 Day Meditation Challenge that every teacher in the world is now doing. Just sayin’.
