A survivor of Hodgkin’s disease, and breathtaking opera singer, Barbara Padilla, was told she might not be able to sing again. Never losing sight of her dream, Barbara went on to become a runner-up for America’s Got Talent and is currently recording her debut album.

Positively Positive interviewed Barbara Padilla at the PADRES Contra El Cáncer’s (Parents Against Cancer) annual fundraising gala, which took place at the Tropicana Las Vegas. Hosted by Eva Longoria, the evening featured George Lopez as Master of Ceremonies and honored Giselle Fernandez and Tim Leiweke of AEG for their inspiring efforts to raise awareness and funds for children struggling with cancer. Barbara was on of the performers at the event.
