Most people fall into one of two categories when it comes to success. The first are those who are great at anticipating everything that could happen in any given situation. They prepare themselves for multiple scenarios. The second group has a clear vision of how they want things to play out and puts all of their energy into creating their desired outcome.

Which group do you fall into?

The first group expends a ton of energy and experiences massive anxiety to get it done. The second group has found an easier way to be successful.

If you fall into group one, I want to share a tip with you that got me off this crazy-making merry-go-round: Visualization.

Below is a three-step process to harness the power of your intention, which will leave you with more time and energy to actually enjoy your success.

See It

In order to create what you want in your life, you have to be able to imagine it. For example, visualize yourself in today’s big meeting. Don’t focus on what you fear. (My boss will yell at me. The clients will think I’m a flake. My computer will crash so they won’t see my glowing PowerPoint presentation.) Keep the images positive. See the conference room. Everyone is smiling and nodding in agreement. Your PowerPoint is bold and impressive.

Say It

The same goes for your language. Don’t say what you fear but, instead, focus on what you want. (For example, instead of affirming “I hope I don’t screw it up.” say “I am confident and grateful that the right and perfect words flow with ease and grace in today’s meeting.”)

Sense It

Take five deep breaths and gently close your eyes. Hold the visual you created in your mind. Next, using all of your senses, conjure the feelings of actually experiencing what you desire. The room is a perfect temperature. The chairs are comfortable. You are relaxed and confident. The right and perfect words do roll off your tongue. Your boss pats you on the back. The clients shake your hand and thank you.

You have the power to control the content of your thoughts. Put your attention and energy on what you want to happen.

This is how you harness the power of your intention to create just that. If you hold in your mind what you want to happen specifically and feel those feelings, you will be more relaxed and positive, no matter what comes your way.

I hope you have an amazing week and, as always, take care of you.
