I want you to think back to your middle school days: were you a mean girl? Or were you a victim of a mean girl? In school there’s a pecking order to popularity and power. I have so many clients who come to me full of regret for the way they acted towards other girls in their youth or still carrying wounds from their childhood experiences with bullies.
For these experiences to change, the system needs to change. We need early intervention and guidelines for a new way of being. We need tools and strategies that will teach young girls how to be supportive of each other, how to communicate with each other in a healthy way, and how to be real friends.

This leads me to my amazing guest on today’s episode of Hello Freedom, Emily Greener. Emily heads up a powerful organization I Am That Girl, who teaches girls on five continents to love, express, and be who they are. Their vision is that a girl’s physical, emotional, and mental well being are all rooted in her self-worth. I Am That Girl is helping girls transform their self-doubt into self-love. They teach girls how to connect with each other in healthy ways. Emily leads with her own vulnerability. It’s her passion for people that helps her create an impact on these girls, and she is walking the talk. She leads by example.
“We’re all going through the same things, and so few of us say it out loud, and we so seldom have permission to be vulnerable.” – Emily Greener
Healthy girls become powerful women doing good work in the world. We have the power to uplift this next generation by supporting early intervention and providing an alternative to the status quo. If you know a girl age fourteen to twenty-four who would like to join or create a chapter of I Am That Girl in your area check here for information.
I hope my deep dive with Emily inspires you to take action in your own life to be a part of whatever solution needs your time and attention. Click Here to listen to our interview now!
