I must admit over the course of a few months this year I had allowed my business to get a little cray cray. What that meant for me and the way my business was being run was that I felt anxious, a little scattered, annoyed and feeling like there was just too much going on.

I was starting to think, “How did this happen?”, “What is wrong with me that I am attracting this into my life?”

You know I like to think I am a super positive person. I coach people every day about monitoring their thoughts and feelings, and even though I was implementing these practices myself, I was still feeling the same way.

So I was getting concerned as problems, issues and frustration seemed to just keep coming back. I am sure you guys know the feeling when one area of your life, especially an important one, starts to feel a little overwhelming.

So about two-three weeks ago I decided that I needed change with my company. I decided that I needed to make some really difficult decisions especially with people that I trusted and liked. I spent a number of nights worrying and thinking about the impact that would have on my business and if it was the right one.

It wasn’t easy, and I was doubting myself a little and was really nervous.

I was also wrestling with the idea of getting a nanny to help me out at home. I love my daughters so much and I have been able to run my business successfully and still do all the Mommy things like get ready for school, drive to school and pick them up if they miss the bus, take them to after school programs, go on play dates and everything else.

What I was doing though in reality was trying to be everything to my family, when the reality was that I couldn’t. But you know the feeling as a Mom, it is difficult at times to let go and admit that it is OK to get help with the family and chores around the house.

So anyway, I ended up making the change and handing over more control to my support staff. Even though it was costing more I knew by making these changes I was investing in my future and this freedom will allow me to build bigger.

I also decided to get a Nanny…yikes! That was huge as I was more present when my daughter got home from school because I wasn’t pressed and stressed for time. We ended up having even better times together than before.

Without me even being aware of it at the time, these simple changes made a huge difference to my life. I also added a new night time regime of essential oils and energy clearing work.

And it was this past week that it all suddenly became apparent to me…I now have so much more time on my hands during the course of the day. Those feelings of stress and overwhelm had dissipated and my energy was amazing. I felt like a new person!

I was getting more results and more done. Even though I had a nanny I was spending even more time with my family and guess what? It was much better quality time because my energy was right and I was more present.

For the first time in ages I had so much more time and even though the work load was the same if not more, I had zero feelings of stress and overwhelm. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off of me.

With those simple changes I made…I made a major shift in my life.

So here’s a few tips for you so that you too can Make Shift Happen in your life…

Stop and be aware – Become aware of how you feel at any moment. When we stray off course from our purpose our energy shifts. We start to feel overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, anxious, worrisome etc.

The first stage in making shift happen is by going within and noticing how you feel. That is your guidance system.

Honesty and Courage – We then have to be completely open and honest with ourselves. Quite often that takes a lot of courage. Even though we don’t feel great we can all be a little stubborn and convince ourselves that it will all work out in the end if we just keep pressing forward.

Realize that sometimes it is actually a signal for change.

Make shift happen – Nobody can do this for you. It is up to you. Once you become aware and acknowledge that you need change, you need to make that decision and do it.

No matter how uncomfortable or hard that decision is. It’s up to you. Make it happen.

Be open to new ideas – Open yourself up to new ideas and possibilities. To be honest when someone told me about energy work and changing up my oil regime at night, I would have told them they were nuts…

But I decided to get out of my own way and try it. And now I am so happy that I wasn’t stubborn and just tried something new. I let go of old ideas, which by the way I didn’t even know were holding me back in the past.

It’s all good – When we make shift happen we cannot look back with regret and think that we wasted our life or time, or that we were bad. We must rather look back and be happy for that experience and how it helped change us and helped us make shift happen….for the better.

So peeps…Stop for a moment and see how you can make shift happen in your life and dive right in.

Trust yourself and make it happen. @hayleyhobson (Click to Tweet!)
