Thanksgiving is a week and a half away and life is about to get cray balls. Seriously, with everything going on, the next two months are no joke. But if you start now, you can slow things down to a comfortable pace and enjoy the holiday season.

Sounds good for a change, right?

I’ve made a list of 3 Ways to Chill before the holiday season grabs you by the back of the neck and shakes you like a snaggle-toothed dog with a rag doll. Decide not to do stress, starting this year.

Self-Care

Self-care is highest on my list of priorities. It’s where everything comes together for me. I know if I don’t take care of myself, my resolve is weakened and stress doesn’t just come knocking – it opens the door and lets itself right in.

I know what it’s like to be sick, and so I am totally committed to doing what it takes to be well. For me juicing, essential oils and yoga head the list.

If you already have a self-care regimen in place – exercise, healthy diet, essential oils – stick with it, even as the days get busier. Put yourself first. It’s not just okay, it’s a necessity.

Make a Plan, Stan.

Get a jump on the holiday season by listing everything that needs to happen between now and the end of the year. Then prioritize.

Are you hosting a December holiday party? To save on stress, get as much done as possible before the week of the party.

Ask For Help

If you’re hosting a gathering, remember that you don’t have to pull things together by yourself. Ask for and accept help. I know peeps who say they spend all their time in the kitchen listening to everyone else joyfully yakking it up in the next room. Accept help so you can join in the fun.

Organize a guest list, and when guests ask what they can bring, your answer should never be NOTHING. Even if you have the menu planned, allow guests to bring their favorite appetizers, desserts, or salads. It’ll take the pressure off.

Regardless of what’s going on around you, you’re in charge of your own inner peace. Monitor your thoughts and make sure you think positively.

Think peace, think joy and sometimes … stop thinking! Silence is often the best stress buster of all.
