One of the most frustrating things for me is when I know what I need to do to get the results I want but I am just NOT doing it – either at all or consistently enough.

Does this ever happen to you?

You know what to do. You know the actions to take. Yet you can’t seem to motivate to actually do it or do it consistently enough to create results.

I cover why this happens and what to do about it in today’s vlog.

Since not taking consistent action toward my goals is one of my biggest personal frustrations, I am committed to shifting it when it shows up.

Here’s how I do it: I pay attention to the HOW more than the WHAT because how we do things is way more important that what we actually do.

Let’s explore an example. Perhaps you know that you should go to the gym to achieve the physical results you desire but you just cannot seem to motivate to do it. It’s very likely that you do not have positive feelings toward working out. You may dread exercise. So even when you try to motivate, all that negative emotion comes up. HOW you are approaching going to the gym, meaning your attitude toward it, is pretty miserable. Can you see how that would not inspire you to go?

Let’s explore another example when it comes to taking consistent action. Say you are looking for a job and every day you are applying and sending out resumes but as you are doing it you feel stressed and discouraged. You are doing the WHAT in terms of the right action but HOW  you are doing it is with a lot of negative energy. So after a few weeks (or even days) of applying for jobs, you are going to lose momentum.

You have got to shift HOW you do things to create consistent results. Approach your actions with a positive attitude and a clear vision of the life-enhancing results the actions will create. @ChristinHassler (Click to Tweet!)

Before you apply for a job, visualize yourself excited about getting it, feel the feeling of confidence that you are the person for the job, and send gratitude toward the person who will receive your application. Before you go on a date or start swiping on an app, set a clear intention for healthy connection, romance and feel into what an amazing catch you are.

Paying even more attention to HOW you take action is a game changer. Shift how you feel about doing things and you’ll notice they become easier to do and create better results.

Christine Hassler has broken down the complex and overwhelming experience of recovering from disappointment into a step-by-step treatment plan in her new book Expectation Hangover. This book reveals the formula for how to process disappointment on the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual levels to immediately ease suffering.
