Today’s video is for you if you feel weighed down by emotional “stuff” but you’re ready to be DONE with it. I get personal and share my story.
A few weeks ago I told my friend Clay I was having trouble getting into my creative flow while healing through grief & trauma. “I’m trying, but it doesn’t feel like it’s working; I’m fighting the quicksand, but I don’t feel like I go anywhere.”
He listened sincerely without trying to fix things (best listener award) then said, “It’s hard because you’re a hot air balloon, Ishita. You’ve got life and energy, and this is weighing you down. Time to cut the sandbags.” He looked at me straight. “I know how important this is, how scary it is. I know it’s not easy, but you need to cut the sandbags. You must.”
This is why my friends are on POINT. He told me the truth while being loving; it hit me straight in the gut because was right.
Today’s video is if you’re a hot air balloon but you’re not flying because of your sandbags. Time to cut them loose. If you know how to source your own life and stoke your fire, it’s not just “good” to cut the sandbags, it’s necessary.
When you know your baseline is light but you feel heavy with negative emotions, something is OFF. It’s not just you feeling “bad.” The contrast means something needs to change. I spent months making myself wrong for feeling this way before I realized I had to actually change something – i.e. cut cut cut.
Are you soaring as high as you could be. If at all? If you’re here, you probably know your potential, but people, issues, or circumstances are tying you down. Watch the video to cut the sandbags, even though it’s not easy. I’ll share how I was able to get back into a creative, expansive space.
Our potential is limitless. I was tied down for so long that I forgot I was free and what I was capable of. It’s time to cut those sandbags so you can rise. So we can rise. @ishitagupta (Click to Tweet!)
Do you feel tied down by a circumstance or issue? Even if it feels like you’ve been going through it for years, I get it. I really do. I also know it might be time for you to cut whatever sandbags you have in your life, in whatever way you can. And if you want insight on how I’m doing it or how you can, email me; I’ll share what’s working (and not) for me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We all need encouragement, to feel heard, and to be told the truth. Especially if you’re going to follow your own path and lead your truest life. If you know someone else who needs to cut the sandbags, share this email and video with them. Maybe it’s exactly the hit in the gut they need like I did. You be the friend who keeps it real and loving.
