The reason we seek to change ourselves is because we know we have ingrained negative thoughts that are in the way, and we need energy to stop them from hindering our growth. The energy is our “word.”

When I see someone get angry and explode with rage I think if they could take that energy out of the negative and transfer it into a positive zone, an amazing shift would happen.

Releasing Anger

There is some anger within every one of us. It could be the anger of not being seen for the people that we are, or for not being appreciated for doing the best we can.

Holding on to anger and refusing to forgive turns inward, in a destructive way, and keeps us from growing. If we work through a process of listening to anger, accepting it and letting it go, we can then address the source of the anger with love and compassion. What does the person who hurt you bring from their past that they could be projecting out into the world? What mistakes have you made yourself that you can relate to?

The duality of all things tells us that there is always another side to the coin; another perspective that we may or may not understand. The important element when faced with the choice to forgive is the fluidity of life. Hang on to anything for too long and it will only bring you unhappiness.

Rather than feeling like a victim and attaching to anger, when you forgive you acknowledge that we are all living our own stories, and they are all connected. We have more in common than you may think. Forgiveness brings us closer. Sometimes forgetting is even better! People often feel they need to forgive in order to detach, but forgetting what has happened to you, and made you angry, may also be effective in helping to let go. Go deeper and see how the Universe has its own will. It teaches us lessons. Forgiveness is really about accepting that things happen the way they are supposed to.

It’s All About Energy

When we look within, we find our energy and power. Once you understand that power, you have to take responsibility and stop allowing your mother, your father, your brother, your auntie, somebody who stole from you, somebody who hurt you terribly, or whomever, to continue to affect you every day of your life. Press delete. You have the power to do it.

Anger is an emotion that forces us to look deeper within ourselves and examine our relationship to the world. In many ways, it is a perfect reflection of the idea that we have a choice when it comes to how we respond and react to events and people in our lives. That choice, if a positive one, can benefit our own peace of mind and higher consciousness, along with improving our relationships.

If we can develop a new way of recognizing anger, listening to it, feeling it, and letting it go, we will have achieved a path to joyfulness. Anger’s reach can be so destructive, whether in our personal interactions or as manifest in depression, illness or violence. When anger becomes an emotion that flows through you, without fear, and then is released, your heart will open to the extraordinary potential of a truly happy life.
